Korouoma Ice Climbing Experience

Experience Ice Climbing or Easy Hiking in Korouoma National Park – From Rovaniemi
Join me for an unforgettable adventure in the heart of Lapland.
I'm a certified French mountain guide based in Rovaniemi, passionate about sharing the magic of the Arctic. Whether you're looking to try ice climbing for the first time or enjoy a relaxed hike through the stunning Korouoma National Park, I’ll guide you every step of the way.
With all technical gear provided and your safety as my priority, you'll get the chance to discover the thrill of ice climbing in a safe, supportive, and awe-inspiring environment — all with a professional by your side.
Reason to try
The ice climbing trips I offer are designed for small groups of up to two people only.
-For safety reasons, I always keep control of all the technical aspects involved in moving on the ice.

-Because it gets very cold in Korouoma, it’s essential to stay active — climbing or moving — and to avoid long waiting times as much as possible.

-This setup allows me to share my expertise more effectively, help you make real progress in a short amount of time, and ensure you get the most out of your ice climbing experience — which, for some of you, might be a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.

-Ice climbing is part of mountaineering, a discipline rooted in deep values and a true philosophy — one that will never be turned into mass tourism.

-Because this is how I choose to practice my profession — and how I make sure my clients leave truly satisfied.

Who is it for ?
You don’t need any climbing experience to give it a try.
This adventure is open to almost everyone — all you need is motivation, curiosity, and a basic level of fitness and agility.
I adapt each session to my clients’ abilities. I often work with complete beginners, sometimes with experienced athletes, and sometimes with people who’ve never done any sport at all.
Whatever your level or background, it’s always worth trying.

Weather Conditions
In Korouoma, the ice formations usually start to appear in November and begin to melt around April.
Once formed, the icefalls generally stay in good condition and can be climbed every day throughout the season.
However, weather conditions in the Korouoma Canyon can be harsh and sometimes extreme.
In such rare cases, we may decide together to postpone or cancel the trip for safety reasons.
That said, this doesn’t happen often — for most of the season, you can be confident that you’ll get to experience ice climbing in Korouoma under excellent conditions.
From 200€ per person

Ice climbing in Korouoma is a highly specialized activity that requires a personal exchange between the clients and the guide before setting off on the adventure.
For this reason, I do not offer online booking.
If you’re considering joining me, please get in touch via the contact form, email, or phone.
This short conversation allows me to get a sense of my clients’ experience and expectations, and to make sure you feel confident and well-prepared.
No deposit is required to make a reservation

The price is €400 per day, which includes guiding, transportation, and all equipment.
This rate is per day, not per person.
If you come as a group of two, the cost will simply be €200 per person.
In keeping with mountain guiding tradition, payment is made after returning from the climb — once the adventure has been completed.
Payment methods can be arranged according to your preference, except for credit card payments, which are not accepted.
